| I bought my first darts a month or so ago. They are James Wade Unicorns, 20g and cost me just a tenner. Something just doesnt feelquite right though. In my first few days of practice, I expected my shots to be all over the board. But as my aiming has started to improve I've noticed the darts have a tendancy to change direction mid flight. I'm guessing part of this could be the wrong weight of dart? Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved! |

| yes it could be that mate i have always used 22gram and never had any problems with them (touch wood), but if you experiment e.g try 22gram or 24 gram you might find that them are the darts that are more suited to you and will fly alot more straight. Anyway good luck mate!! |

| well stokie, there could be a number of reasons for the change of direction, you could experiment with different stems and flights as it does make a difference, but more likely to be you aim and release and follow through, just have to practice on all that and make sure your standing nice and steady with no wobble of your body when throwing.the darts your using are not the real james wade darts, yes he does use 20g but the argos ones are only endorsed by wade, not used by him, sorry to have to tell you that.mind you they are a nice little dart ive got some here and they do go well but are just a little to light for me i use 22g darts.like i say have a play around ,trying different flights and or stems.maybe you might be suited to a slightly heavier dart too. hope you get it right and good luck. |

| Cheers for the info.
I do have quite a heavy throw though, maybe 26s or 27s would suit me better?

| best if you could have a throw with some mates darts if poss 26g or more is quite a bit from 20g, maybe try 22g or 24g ,you know anyone with 24s ? so you could try them before you buy some. |

| recently i was having a problem with my thin parralel 21g darts. i was struggling to get them to fly straight after months of doing fine.
i was having issues with my elbow and forearm muscles at the time so changed to a short 23gr dart [fordhams]. with a thin shaft i found that these straightened themselves during flight.
it only lasted a couple of weeks until i sorted the muscle problem then i went back to my original dart.
i did though have to spend time making sure my throw and technique were consistent. |

| 20's are a tad light... I'd go to a good darts store and experiment with heavier weights and shorter shafts. Just changing to slightly shorter shafts has helped my accuracy. My first set of darts were quite light as well. I gave them to my daughter |

I am fortunate that 2 of the 3 real darts stores in the Phoenix area will let you do exactly that. The 3rd store here might do that as well, but since it's farther away than the other 2 and since the other 2 are completely awesome, I haven't been to store #3! |

That's why I am not overly keen on mail ordering or internet ordering... I prefer to support the local businesses. |
