I have been thinking for some time now it would be ideal to have a radio show, based on the sport of darts. I have been trying to email all the local radio stations in order to try and get my feelers out to be able to try and get a light at the end of the tunnel. The show would be based on professional players giving advice on different players problems, BDO and PDC commentary on all the tournements including players championships and sky sports events, for all who do not have access to the interent(pdc.tv) or sky sports. Also it would include a genreal darts chat on relevent topics, county macthes reports and super league reports too. And maybe even differnt dart challenges to make the show fun and interesting. What do you think of my idea.
Hi asavfc.. its a good idea but one problem.. getting the players to find time to be on the radion
Professional players do thier darts as a living and time is money, the play tournaments & do exhibitions to put food on the table so they are always busy.
You may find a top ameatur playing whio is on the brink of turning pro will gladly go to a radio station and do an interview, mind you all player would but it has to suit thier schedule.
About the only thing you can do is a podcast in reality, sit with a player somewhere record while talking to him/her and chat in general or ask questions you know the public would like to here.
I would say you would be pushing uphill mate, perhaps stick with interviews and podcast them just like Justin Irwin & Evan Waterman do.
Sorry I cant be of more help. Radio isnt a good media now days as spnsors want to see their players on the TV.
