PostSubject: tips on grip!!   Sat Mar 26, 2011 1:37 am

Hi all!! Just wanted to ask if anyone has any tips on wot the best
artificial grip aid is!!! (that sounds bloody posh and technical Ha!)
ie chalk/ wax etc!
Only asking cause my darts am using are a tad slippy so am having to wet my
finngers with ma tonge a bit! have bin using wax and chalk 2 but jus wondering if
anyone has any other trade secrets as it were!!
By the way had a sample of that mighty grip when i was in a darts shop in
rotherham and av got to say am impressed! Mind it was a bit dodgy driving back its that grippy
the van went round a roundabout 14 times!!! haha!
Sereiously i may get some in the near future!!

Hi there - I think this one is all down to personal "feel" for yout darts ?

Some players use chalk ..... I find that chalk makes the dart slip and I can't feel the grip at all. There is a wax-block you can use
which I have tried - but I find I don't really need it. I do use ring-grip darts so that shows that I do need some decent grip to throw
well - but when you think that Terry Jenkins uses completely smooth darts - it does make you wonder.

I think it all depends on a mixture of your grip / arm action / smoothness etc etc ??

One tip is - don't do the washing-up at home before a darts match !! makes the skin on your hands and fingers feels weird and dry -
really messes up your grip. If my fingers ever do feel dry / cracked - I do put a tiny amount of hand cream on my finger tips just to get some feel back into them.

I wash my hands before I leave the house for league nights then use hand cream. It keeps the hands moist and the ladies love the soft hands.. Laughing

Haha cheers boys!! you may have something there mind about the dart barrel! I use barney silver star darts
which are a lovely made dart but the grip is at the bottom middle and top so it may be a case of that
because there are times when i can tell when ive thrown a bad dart when it leaves my hand because my thumb doesnt
always sit rite on the middle rings as it shud!! Yes i think i new or as good as set of ringed darts is in order!!!
I will also give the hand cream a go since they do suffer with carrying furniture all day then washing them when
i get home!!
Thanks Again chaps!!!

The above is a lot of rubbish and you shall be wasting your money m8

I recommend the same as Wazza above post sais with cleaning the darts with a little toothpaste with a toothbrush does the cleaning
both much easier plus you aint messing yer hands up as the brush does such and better keeping the stems in the darts while doing this
as handy for the grip while brushing the darts ..Both does a good and quicker cleaning job plus your hands dont get messed up ..

This buying from Darts corner these guys ^^ are talking nonsense and its only a money racket and a waste of your money
if you go that way ..believe me ive played darts for many many yrs and know ..I agree with the Australian guy on this

Good Luck ..
