The City of London Darts Association is proud to present

The City of London Darts Association is proud to present the monthly City of London Open, to be held at The Porters Lodge nr. Monument.
The opens are now forming an order of merit to enter the City of London Darts World Championship (CLDWC), organised by the newly formed City of London Darts Association (COLDA) which will be held in November – a tongue in cheek World Championship to promote the sport and indeed art of Darts in the Capital.

Each qualifying open will have cash prizes but the biggest prize will be entry into the CLDWC where up for grabs will be bigger cash prizes, the CLDWC belt, winners shirt and title of City of London World Darts Champion.

The next qualifying open will be held Friday 24th June. Play starts at 19:00 with registration open until 18:30 - you can book in advance. The open is, er, open to the first 64 players who turn up. Preference will be given to those who book AND pay in advance.

The last open was a great night. The final was a superb match played at an excellent standard, and Essex county captain Darren Peetoom came out on top, beating his practice partner and friend Richie Howson, who will be going to the UK Open in Bolton. The next COLDA Open will be on Friday 24th June

We got some great feedback from everyone attended, a varied standard from current and ex county, John Smiths regional quarter finalists to pub chuckers. A good time was had by all. Come down and join in the fun. £5 for a great night out and you never know, one day you might be World Champion…..

Apologies for not getting back to you. I've had computer issues athome and work are a bit of a nightmare about me doing personal projects.

We're now running two opens a month - a mid month and an end of month tournament, July's open's will be Tuesday 12th and Friday 29th, both £5 to enter.

What is the Pro forum and is there a cost associated? We're still without a sponsor so cash is at a premium. The legend that is Stephen bunting has been kind enough to donate us a shirt for auction/raffle so a huge thank you to the Bullet.

The standard is ever increasing. Last month we had UK Open players and one player had previously played in and won a match at the PDC World Championship a few years back!

The biggest prize on offer at the moment is ranking points to the City of London World Darts Championship to be held in November. We've just spent a considerable sum with an American firm that make the Championship belt for the WBC boxers to get our own belt made.

£5 for a cracking night of darts with a great varying standard.

We've had a few things donated as well as The Bullet's shirt and will be putting up some large posters thanking everyone.

We're looking at board sponsorship for each open and the boards on the finals nights in November.

I'll have a look at those forums this evening .
