NOTE:
Posted straight off an email I just got from Russ Strobel to give everyone an idea of hows things started and are now.. enjoy!
The WDDA is newly registered (previously it was Wheelchair Darts Australia)
but due to the worldwide rule change and as we now developed equipment
suitable for other levels and manner of disability we need to change the
name and we are just getting it out there so it's a bit hard to gauge league
reactions yet. I know this much, all will hear about us soon as we begin
promoting our first event to be held in Dandenong during the first half of
this year (20130. Registrations are now being taken on the WDDA website
MembershipThe Wildfire campaign began in 2009 with my article "Are Wheelchairs Players
Aiming Too High?" I presented my request for change to Darts Australia as a
"white paper" submission as an accredited darts coach that year but without
the equipment to prove it would work it was put in the too hard basket. I
developed the equipment in 2010, met Delegates from every State and
demonstrated it in Gosford during the Pacific Masters.
