A most memorable weekend with wonderful people.
Thanks to the City of Greater Dandenong, Winmau, A180 Darts, Team Rebel, Mountain District Darts Assoc. Deaf Darts Assoc. Annecto, Windemere, Wesley Community Services,
Communities In Partnership and my wonderful helpers and WDDA Staff who keep telling me off for thanking them.
Whether behind the scenes or on the day, you have helped make history.
Our Satellite event saw players with Quadriplegic, Paraplegia, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing Impairment and MS compete head to head with non-disability players on the unique Satellite Table.
Each had an equal chance of winning and many laughs and jokes made the event fun and lighthearted for us all and a world first.
Our Wildfire event saw the Wildfire Frames used to allow direct competition between wheelchair and standing players.
Single's and Doubles were played over the 2 days and we all learned a little about the great sense of humour those who attended have.
Strong requests for another day were made and to meet these requests Sunday September 29th has been booked at The Mountain Dart League in Elliott Rd Dandenong for another Satellite and Wildfire Day.
A weekly or Fortnightly Disability Evening is being planned at our venue and will be announced in a few days time.
Thank you all for helping the dreams of so many come true
Russ Strobel, founder WDDA.
